Open Records Request

The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §50-18-70 through 50-18-77 was created through a strong public policy which favors open government. An open and transparent government to the public is essential in a free, open, and democratic society.

The District Attorney’s Office of Rockdale Judicial Circuit is a public governmental office that is subject to the Georgia Open Records Act.

Anyone can request information on any public record that our office has custody and control of. However, O.C.G.A. §50-18-72 lists certain information that are exempt from disclosure.

In accordance with Georgia law, there is a fee for the search, retrieval, review, and production of records. Once an open records request is received, the Rockdale County District Attorney’s Office, as a government agency, has three business days to respond unless the records are unavailable during that time frame. If you are seeking an open records request, then please email our office at [email protected].
